Teaching Assistant Level 1

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team in a brand new special school for pupils aged 11 – 19 years, situated in newly completed premises in Northern Moor.

Our pupils, all of whom have severe learning difficulties, follow a vocational curriculum with a strong focus on supporting young people to become active citizens who make a positive impact on their communities. The rapid growth of this innovative school will offer the post holders ample opportunities for skill development and progression over the next few years through training and support.

As we reach the end of our first two years we are seeking to appoint a number of suitably qualified, enthusiastic and experienced teaching assistants to join our team from September 2018.

Full-time 35 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks) permanent.

The post holder will support teaching and learning across the school, providing general support in the management of pupils and resources, as directed by teachers and senior staff. The successful applicant must be able to work effectively with the whole school community including pupils, parents, governors and staff. 

Candidates will be shortlisted against the person specification for the post.  We would expect you to have good literacy and numeracy skills (proof of GCSE qualification or equivalent in English and Maths is essential). This post requires enhanced DBS clearance. The Trust is committed to safeguarding our children.
