In Key Stage 3 at Pioneer House, our curriculum is carefully crafted to provide a well-rounded educational experience. Students delve into core subjects such as Maths, English, Science, and Digital Skills, ensuring a solid foundation for their academic journey. Beyond these essentials, we nurture creativity through artistic and musical pursuits, fostering an environment where students can explore and express themselves. At Pioneer House we recognise the importance of Food and Nutrition to our students futures and want to ensure they have the skills to plan and prepare nutritious meals. We have a dedicated Food and Nutrition learning environment and a profession training kitchen for students to work in, with the opportunity to move onto Hospitality and Catering qualifications in key stage 4. Another bespoke feature of our curriculum is the Healthy Lifestyles program, which evolves as students progress through the school, developing crucial knowledge and understanding around relationships and overall health and well-being. Our commitment to preparing students for their future is evident from Year 7, where our careers focus begins. Students engage in Careers and Enabling Enterprise lessons, laying the groundwork for upcoming work experiences in Key Stages 4 and 5. Our curriculum is complimented by a range of visits and trips linked to curriculum learning, allowing students to apply their knowledge to real life situations. At Pioneer House, we champion practical, hands-on learning, aiming to equip our students with both academic knowledge and practical skills essential for their journey toward adulthood.
