Pupil Progression Tables

Introduction

The Pupil Progress Tables that follow represent pupil progression based on the analysis of pupil progress data, and take into account our extensive knowledge of the progress which pupils in Pioneer House make over time.

Pupil progress takes account of emerging, developing or secure attainment of skills, recorded via the RAG rating data assessment system.

In addition to the data system result, other factors and evidence relating to the individual student are also considered, when making the final assessment of a student’s rate of progress.

Rates of Progress for Carousel Subjects taught for Part of the Year

Some foundation or vocational subjects may only be studied for part of the year. For example, where they are delivered in a carousel with other subjects. These subjects may only be taught for two lessons per week, over 1 or 2 terms in the year.

For these subjects, the rate of progress for all students across each key stage is adjusted according to the extent to which the subject has been taught. For example, expected progress may be judged to have been achieved if a student secures one assessed skill per term taught.

In addition to the data system result, other factors and evidence relating to the individual student, are also considered, when making the final assessment of a student’s rate of progress.
